Set up and use QR code time tracking

In short

With the QR Code time recording extension, employees start and stop time recording by scanning the code. Each code is linked to an assignment, activity, and, if desired, to a machine or vehicle. Scanning is done in ForstControl under Time recording → QR code, Not with the normal camera on a phone.

Here’s how it works

  1. UnlockExtensions → QR Code Time Tracking → Permissions: Set yourself and all those who need to be scanned to «Active» and save them.
  2. Create codeRider «Functions» → «Create QR Code». Select title, task, activity and, if necessary, an item (e.g. machine). The coordinates come from the order location.
  3. PrintPrint with «Select Print», «Print Without Details» or «Print With Details» and apply them on-site.
  4. Scanning: Start and StopTime recording → QR code Open, «Start Scan», scan the code, «Start». To finish the scan again, «Stop». The camera and location must be enabled.
Tip: Switching jobs, e.g. from driving time to wood harvesting: The scan of the new code first ends the current recording (stop), a further scan starts the new one (start).

Common problems

The person is not active in the extension: Extensions → QR Code Time Tracking → Permissions → «Active» → Save.

Even your own user must be set to «Active» in the extension, even as an admin. After that, «Functions» appears.

The code contains only one ID. It works exclusively in ForstControl. Time recording → QR code.

This is intentional: first, the current recording is stopped, then the new one is started.
