How ForstControl trains the foresters of tomorrow

The training of prospective foresters today requires more than just an understanding of ecology and technology - digital tools also play a central role. ForstControl is a practical software solution that efficiently teaches data collection, accounting and post-calculation. Integrated exercises enable students to experience forestry processes from the ground up and build up digital skills at the same time.

A central element of the training is the exercise in ground-based timber harvesting with subsequent timber marketing. This begins with the standing tree in the forest and ends when the individual timber assortments are sold. The students document their work throughout the entire process: They record hours worked, machine times, services as well as invoices. This data is not only systematically collected, but also invoiced directly. This gives participants an immediate overview of the costs and revenues of their own logging.

Thanks to the intuitive operation of ForstControl, even beginners can quickly create well-founded evaluations. The results allow you to critically reflect on your own planning and organization - a decisive step towards economically sustainable action. In addition, all recorded data flows into ForstBAR, where it can be further processed and analyzed. This creates an end-to-end digital process from the forest to billing.

The exercise is an example of what modern forestry training can look like today: practical, data-based and future-oriented. ForstControl is proving to be not only a useful tool, but also a learning platform for the forestry practice of the future. As a co-initiator, I am particularly pleased to be part of this innovative path - together with a dedicated team that is actively shaping the digital transformation in forestry.
